Advanced Workshop FULL
This workshop will be advanced (you are considered advanced if you've taken a workshop from me before or you've been painting at least 10 years). If you have already taken a workshop from Carol Marine OR feel you are at an advanced level with your art AND are excited to learn more, this class is for you!
In this workshop we will learn about the more difficult aspects of a still life, as well as more advanced subjects. We will talk about the mysteries of reflections on a glass surface (or others), and in the sides of metal or other reflective objects. We will explore glass objects in paint and how they distort the world behind them. We will examine the illusiveness of white objects with their subtle shifts of color. We will discuss flowers, one of the most difficult subjects to paint. We will also spend a day on a more complicated, larger still life, alla prima. Five-Day Beginner to Advanced

Whether you are painting for a living or hobby, painting small and often is a powerful way to rapidly improve your skills. There is a fast growing group of people, called daily painters, who do small paintings every day, post photos of their paintings on a blog, and then sell them through eBay.Learn the basic principals of design--the rules of composition, value, color and shape---and how to apply them to small still lifes. Utilize color relationships using an alternative to the traditional color wheel. Throughout, there will be domos with handouts and one-on-one critiques. Learn how to set up a daily painting blog, the ins and outs of eBay, marketing your work, etc. There will be reference material on this to take home. This workshop fills up fast, so register early.
